well, I still haven't received my equipment (veil, gloves) from Amazon, because I'm dumb and ordered stuff from China, and apparently that takes upwards of two months to arrive... so, much to the surprise of anyone whose ever known me, I'm sure, I handled bees barehanded. I'm sure the rain helped, but they were so docile! as far as I can tell, I only had about 5-7 casualties, and most of those were determined to die by waddling away into the puddles on the roof over and over again. I saved as many as I could, one flew into my hair, another was nearly impossible to convince that the hive was a better home for her than in between my fingers.
